NABWES Leadership Embarks on Working and Sensitization Visit to Secondary Schools in Badagry West

The National Association of Badagry West Students (NABWES) on Tuesday 18th and Wednesday 19th November 2025 embarked on a two-day working and sensitization visit to several secondary schools across Badagry West. The visit was aimed at familiarizing with the students, motivating them academically, addressing issues affecting their conduct, and strengthening NABWES' relationship with schools across the region.

 Schools Visited: 
1. Kankon Junior and Senior Secondary School
2. Sito Gbethromeh Junior and Senior Secondary School
3. Apa Junior and Senior Secondary School
4. Dikor Comprehensive College
5. Theotal International College
6. Undivided Kingdom College
7. Samjane Arise & Shine Int'l College

 Purpose of the Visit 
The key objectives of the visitation were to:
- Motivate and encourage students to take their academic work seriously and strive for excellence.
- Sensitize learners on the dangers of cultism, truancy, misconduct, and other negative behaviors.
- Strengthen the relationship between NABWES and secondary schools within Badagry West.
- Understand the challenges faced by both students and school management as part of the association’s commitment to educational development.

The NABWES Leadership Team received a warm and positive welcome from the principals, staff, and students across all the visited schools. The management teams expressed their appreciation for the initiative and commended NABWES for prioritizing student welfare and academic improvement in Badagry West.

During interactive sessions with school administrators, several school heads shared their concerns regarding students’ increasing lack of discipline, rising cases of truancy, and poor commitment to their academics. NABWES leadership acknowledged these challenges and commended the principals and teachers for their resilience and continuous dedication to nurturing the students despite the constraints they face daily.

The engagement with students was one of the most impactful aspects of the visit. Members of the NABWES leadership delivered inspiring talks, encouraging students to remain focused on their studies and to understand the long-term benefits of education. They spoke extensively on the dangers of cultism and misconduct, urging the students to stay disciplined and respectful within the school environment. The leaders also shared personal experiences to motivate the pupils, showing them that success is achievable when one remains committed, hardworking, and determined. Students were also guided on effective study habits, proper time management, goal-setting, and the importance of good behavior as part of personal development.

NABWES also used the opportunity to commend the teachers and administrators for the immense effort they put into shaping the students. The association emphasized that their commitment does not go unnoticed, and promised to continue supporting schools through outreach programs, mentorship opportunities, and student-focused initiatives.

To sustain the impact of the visitation, the NABWES leadership recommended that similar sensitization visits be conducted regularly. They believe consistent engagement will go a long way in reinforcing positive values, improving students’ academic focus, and reducing cases of misconduct and truancy across schools in Badagry West.
